Native Construct released their debut record Quiet World on Metal Blade Records in 2015 to worldwide acclaim even before they played their first show. Combining forward thinking arrangements and a unique, theatrical narrative into a progressive metal record that would make Between The Buried and Me proud, the group of Berklee College of Music students made quite the impression in the progressive music community. Since that time, Native Construct played their first show and toured extensively in support of Quiet World. Now, the group is in the process of creating their sophomore record. Myles Yang, founding guitarist and one of the composers in the band, made time to chat with us about the writing process behind Quiet World, the lessons he offers, and the value of muffins.
