Hailing from Montreal, newly birthed metalcore beasts In Disarray have unveiled their debut EP, Cycles. And It Djents is privileged to have the exclusive premiere of not just one track, but the EP in its entirety.
This comes off the back our premiere of “The Victim” from last April. Cycles consists of five tracks of vibrant and extremely tight technical heaviness. The riffs are dynamic, the drumming is relentless and the vocals are consistently brutal. The EP, to its, credit, is by no means on the softer side of metalcore. In the space of 15 minutes, we are treated to an explosive ride that does not slow, opening in the form of “Bridges” and leading to some low-end intensity in “Empath”. We then get to the decidedly epic “The Victim”, before the melodic interlude of “Cycles” leads us to the thunderous closing track “Broken”.
The band features former members of Amongst Heroes, Vying with Veils and Compass, and announced its existence only a handful of months ago. But they have already displayed a remarkable grasp of musicianship and production. This EP is not one to be missed, and will hopefully propel the band further in the future, as well as fly a new flag for the Canadian/Montreal metalcore scene. Enjoy!
