After a 2 year hiatus, Monosphere are back stronger than ever, with a fresh lineup and some riveting new material. And It Djents is privileged enough to have the exclusive premiere for their brand new track “Engage.”
For those who don’t know, Monosphere includes It Djents’ very own Rodney Fuchs, who has drummed for the band since the beginning and has also traditionally written all of Monosphere‘s instrumental parts. However in this case, “Engage” it is co-written by both Rodney and guitarist Max Rossol.
“Engage” is a lean, lavishly put together song, which is easily the finest Monosphere song to date. It has all the hallmarks of decent prog-metalcore, with intense vocals and some extra clever touches to boot. Among other things, that breakdown one minute in is a sheer thing of beauty.
It’s also worth noting that the song was mastered by Audiosiege engineer Brad Boatright, whose other credentials include the mastering of the now renowned Stranger Things theme tune. “Engage” was also was mixed by Frontierer member Pedram Valiani.
‘We wanted “Engage“ to be a melodic, yet heavy song,’ explains Rodney, ‘After working with Ped it turned out to sound even heavier than expected.’
The song promises to be the first hint of an upcoming EP from Monosphere that will be released hopefully in the not so distant future. “Engage” suggests that it will be the best material from the band yet.
