EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: The Luminary – “Isolated”

This week’s exclusive premiere features djents in a big way. Here we have something rare: A ‘progressive metalcore’ [read: djent] band from London, ON (Canada) with five members. In other words, The Luminary is not a bedroom-produced studio project, but a real band. How rare is that these days! As a bonus, it’s a real video, shot and edited professionally. Many signed bands have all but given up on those by now. Have a look at the video for “Isolated”:

The Luminary show a sense of groove and an ear for composition on “Isolated.” They have a good balance of crunch and melody in their guitar work. The parity between the clean singing and the growls is no less laudable. If this song is any indicator, they’ve show some growth since their “Cycles” single from last year and Collective Unconscious from the year before. “Isolated” will be the lead-off track from The Luminary’s Flow State EP, which has a scheduled release date of July 15, 2017. The track will appeal to fans of ERRA, Invent,Animate, and Northlane.

The Luminary both stream and sell their music on Bandcamp. You can follow their social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
