Heavy tunes this Friday, as our friends in Prospective just came up with a new single that we are proud to premiere! You know what this means? Right, proggy sounds from Bologna, Italy. Check out “So Far Gone” below:
“So Far Gone”…
…delivers a heavy mixture of prog metalcore-ish riffing and bouncy grooves in the vein of Architects‘ music, underlined by some more details and ambient passages. The band creates a sound that sounds very contemporary, based on a good production that is heavy while being good at differentiating each instrument. Fans of Wage War‘s latest work Deadweight might enjoy this very much!
And indeed the song has a very similar attitude to Wage War‘s “Don’t Let Me Fade Away” in being catchy and chuggy same time. A triplet-heavy part creates a break within the song, whereas the clean vocals deliver a Northlane-ish vibe in the chorus. “So Far Gone“ is a song that is easy on the ears and convinces with said breaks and a very entertaning attitude. The aforementioned Northlane influence was to be found on the band’s earlier material as well, alongside which they incooperated stronger Veil Of Maya and The Safety Fire influences.
As Prospective themselves stated, the song is off their upcoming sophomore release Unreal, which will be out on March 9th. Last year, we already had the chance to work with Prospective and premiered their song “Watershaped”. You can check it out here!
