NEWS: The Dillinger Escape Plan Cancel Remaining European Dates

Oh no! Imagine you are on tour for the last time, playing sold out shows all over Europe. One last time, before you call it a day. What do you think you would need the least? Right, a bus crash. Unfortunately, mathcore legends The Dillinger Escape Plan just got into this very situation. While on their way to Krakow, their trailer was hit from behind by a truck. The band was touring with Norway’s jazz metal outfit Shining and played in Warsaw just the day before.

The positive news: they are all alive and not in critical condition. The bad ones: 13 people got injured, their gear is broken and they have to cancel the remaining dates. As Ben Weinman, guitarist of TDEP, initially stated:

‘The remaining dates in Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain and Belgium (running through March 5th) have been cancelled. All the gear is destroyed and there are injuries – we are unable to continue this tour right now.  The band and crew would like to thank the fans and press around the world for their concern and the Polish police and medical staff for their handling of the situation.  We hope to get back to Europe soon.’

Later, the band released the following, lengthy statement on their Facebook page:

The cancelled dates are the following:

Feb 14th – Leipzig Conne Island, Germany
Feb 15th – Prague Rock Cafe, Czech Republic
Feb 16th – Vienna Szene, Austria
Feb 17th – Budapest A38, Hungary
Feb 18th -Zagreb Culture Factory, Croatia
Feb 20th – Munich Backstage Halle, Germany
Feb 21:st – Lausanne Les Docks, Switzerland
Feb 22nd – Turin Hiroshima Mon Amour, Italy
Feb 23rd – Bologna Zona Roveri, Italy
Feb 24th – Lyon L’Epicerie Moderne, France
Feb 25th – Barcelona Apolo, Spain
Feb 26th – Madrid Barcelo, Spain

Mar 02nd – Strasbourg La Laiterie, France
Mar 03rd – Wiesbaden Schlachthof, France
Mar 04th – Cologne Gloria, Germany
Mar 05th – Brussels AB Ballroom, Belgium

It looks like The Dillinger Escape Plan still want to play those dates and maybe reschedule them for another tour, in favor of their farewell as a band.

Let’s hope the best for them! You can donate money here, although it has to be stressed that the gofundme campaign wasn’t launched by the band themselves.
