NEWS: Native Construct Robbed On Tour

Again, another band has been robbed on tour. This time the up and coming Native Construct from Boston, MA got robbed in San Antonio, TX during a short visit at a restaurant. The thieves stole not only their luggage, including passports, laptops, etc, but also native construct guitara Strandberg Boden OS 8 guitar. This guitar was only produced 25 times worldwide, due to Ola Strandberg and shipped 16 times to the US. It is needless to say, that you all should keep an eye on it and see if this kind of guitar appears on Ebay or a similar site.

This again shows, how brash those thieves act. To all touring bands: please keep your passports to yourself. Do not leave them in the van. It is a horrific procedure to get new one, and will take a lot of time and energy.

We hope the best for Native Construct and that this series of robbed bands will stop soon! As you might expect, the band won’t make it to the Canadian part of their current tour with Between The Buried And Me, Enslaved and Intronaut.

Read the band’s statement below:

“Bad news incoming:

We were just robbed in San Antonio, Texas.

We came back from In N Out to two people in our van, tossing our backpacks (with our laptops, passports, and other valuables inside) as well as Poh Hock’s new Strandberg Boden OS 8 into their car parked alongside to conceal the break-in, which occurred in a Home Depot parking lot in broad daylight.

The guitar is pictured below. Any help in the form of shares, etc to get the word out about this unique guitar (in case it shows up in any pawn shops in the San Antonio area) is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, this also means we will likely not be able to make it to the Canada dates on this tour due to our passports being gone. Sorry, everyone.

The worst part is that the thieves never get anywhere near what the real value is.
Years ago, in a crappy thrash band far, far away, we had an entire trailer stolen from us during a show. Roughly $6500 worth of equipment, as it turns out, was sold by the shitbag thief for $500 and a .22 rifle to a local unscrupulous pawn broker. Instead of just leaving the trailer, they torched it (so, obviously, we lost our deposit). The only reason they got caught is because the getaway driver bragged about it on MySpace, and someone who knew someone else put two and two together and called the cops. Most of the equipment had been sold off third-hand already, so only a handful of cables and a small mixer were recovered.
    People suck.

Damn that really sucks! But as I was told by many experienced musicians: ‘Never bring anything you like on tour’

I don’t understand how you could leave gear like that unattended even for a short period of time. You’re just asking for trouble

The GoFundMe to help them start minimizing the damage has begun! Check it out on Native Construct’s page or see the link here :]

They lost nearly $11K in equipment, plus their passports. It’s ridiculous and sad. I had to donate to their campaign. They’re an up and coming band, that I really believe in and want to see succeed. Hope everything works out for them.

If you feel so inclined, the guys from Between The Buried And Me family setup a go fund me for my friends in Native Construct (truly a class move, guys!). You can donate here:
Every penny counts, and they appreciate anything, if it’s only $5 and words of encouragement.
