NEWS: Ne Obliviscaris Announce New Album and Release Single “Intra Venus”

Ne Obliviscaris

Australian extreme progressive metal act Ne Obliviscaris have announced their new album Urn, which will come out on Season of Mist on 27th October. The album comes 3 years after the highly acclaimed sophomore release Citadel, which gained the band an impressive fan following worldwide.

The first single comes in the seven and half minute track “Intra Venus”. The track highlights the amazing, complex arrangements and perfectly interwoven melodic work that the band is known for. The ever brilliant violin solo followed by a softer melodic segment once again reminds the fans of the unique beauty that Ne Obliviscaris always manage to bring out in their music.

The album also features Robin Zielhorst (of OneGodLess, ex-Cynic and Exivious fame) handling the bass duties on the record, following the much discussed and controversial dismissal of longtime bassist Brendan “Cygnus” Brown following allegations of domestic violence. The band commented:

“We approached Robin about collaborating on this record back in March and he jumped at the chance to be involved in the record despite being very busy with his own projects Exivious, Our Oceans and OneGodLess.  An incredible player that is equally technical and musical, and who is also an ex member of the legendary Cynic, we felt his style would suit well with Ne Obliviscaris and it was fantastic working with him.”

Ne Obliviscaris Urn

features a cover design by the band’s vocalist, Xenoyr. The track-list for the album is as follows:

3. Intra Venus (7:29)
4. Eyrie (11:51)
5. Urn (Part I) – And Within The Void We Are Breathless (7:30)
6. Urn (Part II) – As Embers Dance In Our Eyes (6:38)
