Since its humble beginnings in 2010, Pelagic Records has grown significantly and is nowone of the major underground labels when it comes to progressive metal and post-rock/metal. Besides being home to The Ocean (the label is run by their guitarist and main songwriter Robin Staps), the label has had quite a few major names associated with, it including God Is An Astronaut, Klone and Mono. Today, they have announced another stellar addition to their ranks with the signing of Rosetta!
Formed in Philadelphia in 2003, Rosetta have released six albums over the span of 14 years. Their latest full-length, Utopioid, was independently self-released back in September, to fantastic reviews from the post-metal community. The music brought a new sound palette to the band’s music, as the more ethereal and melodic sounds took the forefront, with the songs almost having a sense of optimism floating above the dark and unclear waters.
