NEWS: Protest The Hero Announce European “Fortress” Tour

Thankfully, it’s not only North America who gets a 10 year anniversary run for Protest The Hero‘s groundbreaking record Fortress. It looks like some European and UK dates were just announced! North America will see Protest The Hero joined by Good Tiger, Destrage, Closure In Moscow and Thank You Scientist!  However, the European lineup is just as impressive!

Fortress made a huge impact on the modern progressive metal scene, as well our staff (you can read our discussion of the record and its legacy here). Protest The Hero are playing Fortress in full on this tour, and we will get the chance to see Norma Jean playing their record Redeemer in its entirety as well!  The record is already eleven and a half years old, so take your chance to see it live while you can!

Besides Norma Jean and Protest The Hero, the tour will be supported by two other very interesting acts: Cyclamen, who just came out with a hell of a record called Amida (read our review here), and UK-based deathcore revolutionists in Loathe, who might be one of the most promising acts in their genre. These bands add diversity to the lineup, and there’s no doubt that these shows will be an interesting mixture of modern heavy and progressive music.

The tour dates are as follows:

July 5th – Oberhausen, DE @ Kulttempel
July 6th – Bristol, UK @ The Fleece
July 7th – Birmingham, UK @ Asylum
July 8th – Newark, UK @ Tech FestJuly 10th – Glasgow, UK @ Garage
