It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from technical death metal powerhouse Rivers Of Nihil, but the drought is officially over! Today the band announced their brand new record Where Owls Know My Name, which will release on March 16th through Metal Blade. Of course, a new album announcement isn’t complete without a taste of what’s to come, and so we also get a brand new song! “The Silent Life” was unleashed on the world today, and as expected, it’s a four-on-the-floor stomper. Check out the new song below!
If you’re not familiar with this band, you have some very fun catching up to do, as their albums The Conscious Seed of Light and Monarchy are absolute standouts. They are one of my favorite up-and-coming acts in the heavy music scene, and are poised to make a bigger splash with this new album. Great riffs, great songwriting, and standout musicianship is what you need to be noticed, and this band has those things in spades. If you find this sound to your liking, be sure to pre-order the album; those limited vinyl colors sure are tempting! You can pre-order Where Owls Know My Name through the Metal Blade store in various formats and bundles, as well as over on Bandcamp.
As you might have guessed, Rivers Of Nihil will be hitting the road very soon in support of their brand new record, along with fearsome tour mates Dying Fetus and Thy Art Is Murder. Check their Facebook to get updates on the tour and ticket info! Also, what did you think of the new song? Excited for more from Rivers Of Nihil? Let us know in the comments!
