NEWS: Roadburn Announces First Bands For 2018

Autumn kicks in, and there are already the first 2018 festival announcements. For example, we just got the first bands for next year’s Roadburn! The Dutch festival happening in Tilburg, Netherlands from April 19 to 22, 2018, has some decent bands for us!

When speaking of the headliner, they will have Godspeed You! Black Emperor not only performing one, but two shows on Saturday and Sunday! If this isn’t reason enough to go already, Converge will be there too, also performing two sets. As announced, they will be palying their upcoming record The Dusk In Us as well as You Fail Me in full! As Jacob Bannon, the band’s vocalist, commented:

It is an honor to be working as the curator for Roadburn Festival 2018. The festival is unlike any other, showcasing the most forward thinking artists and musicians of the heavy music world. As this year’s curator I will reach across its sub-genres to bring together an array incredible bands/musicians; expanding the reach of the festival while celebrating the world of extreme music that we all love.

Ivar Bjørnson and Einar Selvik will perform with a new project called Hugsjá; a follow up to Skuggsjá, while Bell Witch and Panopticon will also perform two special sets that have to be named yet. Besides those great artists there will be Colin Stetson’s Exe Eye, The Heads, French crossover titan IgorrrAerial Ruin and Sangre de Muerdago. Those are only the first names and yet this line-up already promises to make for a great weekend! You can find more information on the appearing bands over here! We will also keep you updated whenever new bands will be added to the bill.

The festival artwork was done by the insanely talented Richey Beckett:

Tickets are on sale from Thursday, October 19th on. Mark your calendars and book your travels to Tilburg! Make sure to visit Roadburn’s official website and follow them on Facebook!
