After an illustrious career spanning 16 years and five albums, Dutch progressive metallers Textures took their final bow last night in Tilburg. News broke months ago of the band’s intentions to call it quits this year with a farewell tour through Europe and the UK accompanied by fellow Dutch prog metal act Exivious (who also disbanded earlier this year) titled “Last Miles to the Moon”. It was quite symbolic to end their run in their hometown, and if you weren’t able to make it to see them, fear not, because this final show was recorded and will be released on DVD in April 2018!
The band jointly released a bittersweet statement with the announcement along with the photo you saw before you opened this article:
‘And so it ends… The true Last Miles To The Moon were just perfect on this night, where everything came together. All present and former band-members who were all present at this wonderful evening. Words can’t express how we feel except for thanking you all from the bottom of our hearts. This was more than we could’ve wished for. For the ones who weren’t there. You’re in luck! The whole show has been recorded and will be released as a live DVD, which will be released in April 2018!!‘
This will definitely be a must-have memento for fans. No additional details, including how to order the DVD have been announced yet, but I’m willing to bet that will come in due time. Keep your eyes peeled!
Farewell, Textures, and thanks for all the amazing tunes.
