NEWS: Obliterate Signed To Unique Leader Records

Canadian deathcore band Obliterate announced their signing to Unique Leader Records in a Facebook statement on Saturday Aug 27, 2017. The young band joins a label roster heavy with tech-death bands like Arkaik, Gorod, Inanimate Existence, The Zenith Passage, and The Kennedy Veil. Obliterate’s debut full-length album will be titled Impending Death and will see release in February 2018.

Hailing from the idyllic and historic town of Victoriaville in Quebec, Obliterate are known for compelling live performances and a very worthy deathcore sound.

That having been said, Obliterate promise a change in musical direction for Impending Death. The statement released through the band’s publicist quotes guitarist Marcus Adam saying:

The title is both a message lyrically and musically… as we want the listener to feel that the next moment of a song will be as crushing as the last and for that experience to translate across the album. There’s a sense of impending weight in terms of our delivery. With Unique Leader behind us — a label recognized for introducing some of the most intense bands in the game — this album will see Obliterate reach new audiences and we are confident grow our fan base not only in Canada and the US, but worldwide.

Impending Death will have guest appearances by Oceano vocalist Adam Warren and I Declare War vocalist Jamie Hanks.

Best of all, Cryptopsy guitarist Christian Donaldson will produce Impending Death. In addition to this collaboration with Obliterate, the producer has worked with Despised Icon, Beyond Creation, and Ingested. Strictly speaking, if ‘Montreal’ could be used as an adjective to describe music, then Impeding Death promises to be the most Montreal album possible of 2018. This would be the first time a Quebec metal band from outside Montreal has been signed to an American record label since Sherbrooke’s Gorguts were signed in the early 1990s.

Obliterate have a social media presence on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. Their incumbent material can be streamed on BandCamp.
